As most of you know, Max is our 1 yr. old Labrador pup. From day one, we made the decision that he would be fed the best, organic and species appropriate diet and we would not use any chemicals on him in any way, shape or form…only Young Living essential oils. He was introduced to the Young Living oils from the moment we picked him up to bring him home and get’s his oils daily. 

He has been a healthy, happy dog until about a week ago when I noticed scratching. Ugh, must be time for a bath. To my HORROR, I discovered fleas!! WHAT??? We have NEVER had a problem with fleas! 

I added some Orange Essential Oil to his Animal Scents Shampoo and proceeded to bathe him (Orange oil will melt the exo-skeleton of the flea). Bath time done, a few drops of Cedarwood and Purification and I felt we were good to go. WRONG!

The scratching continued and the fleas were not gone. They were driving him almost mad. He was freaked out and panting, almost hyperventilating from them crawling on his skin. Needless to say, I was feeling the same way. He is a healthy dog, why does he have fleas, and why can’t I get rid of them??? 

After talking with my husband, we realized where he had gotten the fleas but how were we going to get rid of them was the concern. My husband gave him another bath, scrubbing and painstakingly using a flea comb to rid him of these damn pests! It was not successful and so began the conversation of using a chemical “flea dip”. (TEARS)

I was in tears. I did not want to use this harsh, dangerous chemical on my fur baby but it was painful to watch him suffer too. I went to bed hoping I could figure out another option. I did not get much sleep as I kept going over in my head that there had to be another way!

I knew that Orange Oil worked but how could I get enough on him? V-6, YES!!! V-6 with Orange Oil and grease him down!! I couldn’t wait to get up in the morning and try it!

So, this morning, I got out a bottle of V-6, added 40 drops of Orange Essential Oil and 15 drops of Cedarwood and proceeded to oil this pup from his neck to his tail and every crevice in between. I had to get a little personal with him but he didn’t seem to mind at all. 

I rubbed this into his coat getting it deep down on to his skin and WOW, it was the most amazing thing I have ever seen. The fleas began to crawl out and drop into the bathtub! ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? They weren’t even able to jump; they could barely walk and some were just DOA! 

I kept adding more of the V-6 concoction until he was totally greasy! I worked his coat forward and backward with my fingers. Rubbed around those private parts. Went down to the tip of his tail and on his feet. I got him out of the tub and he laid down on a towel on the floor and I began to inspect his underside. The few fleas left were just lying on his oily skin. Of course, Max was assisting with his licking to remove them which was perfectly safe for him to do and he seemed to like the taste of this concoction.

I waited 30 minutes and let it get good and soaked into him. When I got him up to get back into the tub, there were dead fleas lying under him. Check out the pictures of some of the ones I collected. A-freaking- MAZING!! 

Once in the tub I used the Animal Scents shampoo and lathered him up good. I rinsed him and a few more dead fleas went down the drain! I must tell you that I was crying with joy that I would NOT have to use that poisonous chemical flea dip!! 

He was such a HAPPY DOG! He danced around that bathroom shaking water everywhere! He is now asleep at my feet, no jerking, no biting just calm, relaxed and snoring loudly! We are both SO DARN relieved!!!

Please let your friends with dogs know about this. This has got to be the best discovery and personal testimony I have ever shared! 

Just another reason WHY I LOVE YOUNG LIVING ESSENTIAL OILS!!!
